Citizens for Conservation has teamed up with accomplished birder John Vanderpoel to showcase the experiences he has while he travels North America and seeks to personally identify nearly 700 species during the year 2011. You can follow John and partake in his quest by viewing John's blog.
Citizens for Conservation is a volunteer driven local conservation organization that advocates the conservation of natural land and educates about general conservation issues in our local area. CFC owns several private nature preserves and is actively restoring and reintroducing native ecosystems to former farm land. Our restoration efforts are our most direct way of accomplishing our motto of "Saving Living Space for Living Things".
The affiliation CFC shares with John Vanderpoel's "Big Year" is a great example of leveraging CFC's efforts to preserve natural habitats and John Vanderpoel's wildlife expertise. Conservationists around the globe should applaud people like John for verifying that restoration efforts are paying off and living things are enjoying the living space saved.
Please encourage and support John in his quest to identify 700 bird species in North America. All proceeds will go to Citizens for Conservation and our mission. You may donate now by following the 'Donate' link below.
If you prefer to make a pledge and donate at a later time based on the number of species John identifies, you may sign up for our pledge drive. Simply follow the link to our 'Contact Us' page and send us an email with the subject line 'BigYear2011'. Include your name, email address, and the monetary amount per bird that you will donate once a total count is reached. We will notify you of the total count and look forward to receiving your pledge.
